This past Sunday, 07/16/17, I attended the Showcase Classics Car & Bike show held on Grand Blvd in Brookfield, IL. It was a beautiful day for a car show! It was in the mid 70’s, slightly overcast, and a nice breezed was present all day long. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday!
In my spot! Kind of fitting being put in front of a thrift shop!

When I built the Bluesmobile, I went into the project knowing that my car wasn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea, and that more likely than not I would not be winning any trophies for my car.
I registered the car like I do at all shows, but I was surprised to find a category for Rat Rods/Beaters/Unfinished. Hadn’t seen that category before at the few shows I have attended!
Well, what the hell. My car certainly falls into that group so I went with it!
To my surprise, I scored a total of 96.78 points out of a possible 100 total points!
Which was good enough to place 1st Place in my class!
Totally made my day! What a wonderful surprise. I was on cloud nine the whole way home!
