On The Road: Wizard World Cleveland Part 1

03/01/2018, 03:45 hours

It’s 354 miles to Cleveland, I’ve got a full tank of gas, no packs of cigarettes because I don’t smoke, it’s dark out, and I’m wearing my regular eyeglasses because I cant see in the dark…

Well that certainly isn’t as exciting as the quote in the movie, but we’ll make it work :).  As I’ve been blasting on  all of my other social media accounts, I brought The Chicago Bluesmobile to the Huntington Convention Center this past weekend (March 2-4) for Wizard World Cleveland.

I left Chicago in the middle of the night, so I would have plenty of time to get Cleveland for load in times, but also so I could stop and take pictures and document my trip to The Rock & Roll Capital of the World.

Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate at all!  It rained all the way from Illinois to Ohio, some areas it felt like I was in a monsoon!

Approaching the Skyway toll.

A nice shot right before sun break at a rest plaza in Indiana.

This is a picture of rain in Ohio.
This was just a plain old cool picture on the road.

After what felt like an eternity, I finally arrive in Cleveland!

Soooo hungry! Must go to convention center though!
Taking the Browns to the Super Bowl!
Waiting in line stinks.
I would be lying if I didn’t say I wasn’t tempted to drive through this place knocking over booths!

Another shot of my area
Laying pipe.
Hanging drapes.
Almost done.
The banner is up!
Another angle.

And that’s where I stop for the day, I got up at 3:00 AM, drove straight through to Cleveland and waited in line to get to my staging area.  After setting up my drapes and banners it was almost 3:00 PM.  That was a long ass day!  I was beat so I made it over to the hotel to rest up.

Hoping that the rain would have let off by the time I was done napping, when I awoke this is what I could see out the window.

Looks like I’m going to the hotel bar for dinner!!!

I go down stair to peruse the menu.

Ymmm. That sounds good. I think I’ll have that.

I settle on home made pretzel sticks and a Great Lakes Brewing Turntable Pils to start off my night.

These were incredible!!!

After 2 or 10 Turntable Pils (I was in the hotel), I forgot all about dinner.  But I can tell you I slept like a baby!

12:00 AM, story ends!  Look for Part 2 in the next day or so for my continued adventures in Cleveland at Wizard World 2018!!!
